The place where Amsterdam comes together.

Amstelveld has looked the same for centuries. It’s the heart of the city, a place where people come together. In the middle of the square stands the Amstelkerk, one of the few wooden churches in Amsterdam and, to this day, a living part of the neighbourhood. Inside this special building, with windows looking out onto the square, you’ll find Cafe Restaurant Meyer. A new place in an old place.

Meyer is named after a true Amsterdam legend. Meyer Linnewiel, better known as Kokadorus. A market trader, local character, and storyteller in the best sense of the word. He stood here on Amstelveld, sold a bit of everything, and everyone listened. His statue still stands on the square, and his name now welcomes you at our door.

In the kitchen we cook with global influences, without making a fuss. Familiar dishes, kept simple, with bold flavours. The wine list follows the same idea. Accessible bottles for any day of the week, plus a few special gems for when you feel like staying a little longer.

Feel free to step inside, take your time, and make yourself at home.
